Will Exploding Airbags Be The Next Massive Auto Recall
Personal injury attorneys, Williams DeClark Tuschman, have been following the massive GM recall very closely. The Toledo based lawfirm is offering FREE consultation to those who have been affected by the recall. But a new danger involving exlpoding airbags could be on the horizon for vehicles.
There has recently been a case where a womans car was bumped from behind by another vehicle that caused her car to slightly bump into the car ahead of her. While there was not even a scratch on the womans vehicle the car’s air bags exploded as a result of the minor fender bender. The air bag exploded at such a high speed that it propelled hundreds of metal shards into the womans face and other parts of her body causing serious physical and permanent injuries.
The initial thought process was this was an isolated incident but millions of vehicles are on the road today with defective airbags that could result in serious injuries or even death.
We have learned that NHTSA has opened an investigation on vehicles that are equipped with air bags manufactured by Takata Corp. (the worlds second-largest maker of auto safety parts). Because of the investigation a list compiled of the following car manufacturs Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Chrysler Group, BMW, Toyota and most recentley GM are believed to have defective air bags.
The defective air bags have resulted in a recall beginning in 2008 to the present.
