Johnson & Johnson Is Stuck With $140 Million Judgment

A seven-year-old child developed toxic epidermal necrolysis as a result of using Johnson & Johnson’s Children’s Motrin. The toxic epidermal necrolysis led to the loss of 95% of the top layer of her skin, heart failure, a stroke, and an aneurysm. Samantha Reckis and her parents brought suit for failure to warn of these side effects. A jury verdict was rendered in the amount of $63 million plus interest, totaling $140 million.
