About the Award
Every year, the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys (NAOPIA) recognizes 10 attorneys in each state for their hard work and dedication. To be considered for this honor, a lawyer must be nominated by a fellow licensed attorney, or one of NAOPIA’s in-house staff members. The nominee must be in good legal standing, and must actively practice personal injury law with a minimum of 5 years’ previous experience. The NAOPIA processing team then researches the nominee’s legal background to verify that the lawyer’s skills and experience match that of a Top 10 Attorney. Nominees are narrowed down to 50 and evaluated on their top accomplishments, legal awards, case outcomes, peer and client reviews, and overall practice. Finally, 10 are selected from each state by the NAOPIA Board of Governors. As this accomplishment is only awarded to 10 personal injury lawyers in each state, less than 1% of all practicing lawyers earn the Top 10 Attorney Award. This year’s list will be officially released on Friday, March 30, 2018.
